John Hansard Gallery is located in Southampton City Centre on Above Bar Street. The main entrance to the building is in Guildhall Square. Above Bar Street in front of John Hansard Gallery is for buses and taxis only. The best drop off points are behind the Gallery in Park Walk, across Guildhall Square on West Marlands Road, or Commercial Road.

There are Blue Badge parking spaces directly at the rear of the building 50 yards from the main entrance. The building is entirely wheelchair accessible, with lifts to all floors.
We welcome guide and hearing dogs.

Lockers, buggy park and baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor.
Accessible Toilets are on ground and first floors and all our toilets are gender neutral.

The nearest bus stops are on Above Bar Street, New Road and Commercial Road and serviced by Bluestar, First, Unilink and City Red buses.

Southampton Central is the nearest train station, followed by approximately a 10 minute walk or 4 minute taxi journey. Plan your travel in advance by train and bus.
If you travelling to us by Ferry from the Isle Of Wight, Red Funnel ferries passenger terminal is in the city centre at Town Quay. From here it is a 20 minute walk up to Guildhall Square, or there is a Bus Stop (Telephone House TE) where you can catch Unilink bus services U1A or U1E which stops at 'Cenotaph', the closest to John Hansard Gallery. Plan your journey in advance by ferry.
