Women in Academia | Call for Creative Entries

08 March 2019 - 06 April 2019

To celebrate this, and the significant role women play in research and teaching at University of Southampton, WiSET+, working in partnership with John Hansard Gallery, Winchester School of Art and the intersectionalities: identities – politics – cultures research group (iPIC).
 
You may wish to highlight the work of a female colleague, tutor or student, or you could explore the impact of a contemporary academic working on exciting projects, or a significant role model from history. You could take inspiration from the individual themselves or their area of research, they could be working at the University of Southampton, nationally or internationally. You can explore the theme in any way you wish. Your response can be in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, poetry, film, textiles, clay, digital etc.) and any size. 
 
Anyone, of any age or gender, can take part. You do not have to work at the University of Southampton or be in an academic role to submit an entry. 
 
Entries will be exhibited at John Hansard Gallery and The Winchester Gallery at Winchester School of Art during Summer 2019.  All entrants will be invited to the opening of the exhibition and awards presentation. 
 
If you would like to submit work, please complete the attached (link) ‘intention to submit’ form by the (date). Materials bursaries available by discussion. 
 
Deadline for intention to submit: Tuesday 30 April 2019
Deadline for receipt of artworks: Friday 31 May 2019
